手と花では2026年6月13日（土）〜6月28日（日）の会期で witness solo exhibition 「summer sitting on the street 」を開催いたします。

展示をしたりデザインをし始めて数年経ったころ、
地上波でモヤモヤさまぁ～ず2という番組が始まりました。
もともとさまぁ～ずさんのファンだったこともあり、
第1回を観てみると街を歩いて引っかかりのあった看板や
お店の方にツッコミを入れたりするのがとてもおもしろく
衝撃を受け、それから毎回DVD/HDプレイヤーに録画し
DVDに焼く日々が始まりました。

トマソンなどの路上観察の提唱者、赤瀬川原平さんや
都築響一さんの活動を知ったのはもう少し後で、
ぼんやりとおもしろいことは日常・外にあるんだなと
脳の隅で考えていました。

そんな時ふと花を描いてみようと思い、
花瓶に挿したものを観察したり写真を撮って練習している間に
色が変わってしおれていく過程を初めてじっくりと見て、
それまでこんな素敵なものを見ているようで
見ていなかったのかとショックを受けたりもしました。

軒先や路上に咲いている花を写真に撮りながら歩いていて、
植木や花壇は何かのエリアとそれ以外をやわらかく区切っていたり
通りかかる人とシェアできるのがやっぱり楽しいな
そんなことを考えながら歩いていると、
夏が通りにでんと腰を下ろしていました。

福岡県出身。道ばたや住宅街で見られる草花をモチーフにした作品のほか、
絵の一部を貼り直したコラージュ作品を制作。
そのほか企業のビジュアル制作やグラフィックデザイン、テキスタイルデザインなど多数。

コラージュの過程で生まれる直線は何かを切り離すものやノイズではなく新しいバランスを得るための自由な道のようなものです。
直線や画面を変化させるのは大工だった祖父が鉋がけしていた木材や変身ヒーロー、変形ロボットの影響が現れており、日常と虚構の境界線を揺さぶり見る者の視線を画面の外へ向かわせその先の想像を広げます。

Tetoka will host the witness solo exhibition “summer sitting on the street” from Saturday, June 13, 2026, to Sunday, June 28, 2026.

A few years after I started holding exhibitions and doing design work,
a TV show called *Moyamoya Summers2* began airing on terrestrial TV.
Since I was already a fan of Summers,
I decided to watch the first episode. I was blown away by how funny it was
to see them walking around town, picking on signs that caught their eye
or making snarky comments to shop owners.
From then on, I started recording every episode on my DVD/HD player
and burning them to DVD.

It wasn’t until a little later that I learned about the work of Genpei Akasegawa, a pioneer of street observation like “Tomason,”
and Kyoichi Tsuzuki.
I vaguely kept it in the back of my mind that interesting things
were out there in everyday life and the world around me.

Around that time, I suddenly thought I’d try drawing flowers.
While practicing by observing and photographing flowers in a vase,
I watched the process of them changing color and wilting for the first time with real attention,
and I was shocked to realize that even though I’d been looking at such beautiful things,
I hadn’t really been seeing them at all.

As I walked along, taking photos of flowers blooming under eaves and on the street,
I realized that while potted plants and flower beds softly demarcate one area from another,
it’s still fun to share them with passersby.
As I walked, thinking about these things,
summer had settled right down on the street.

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. In addition to works featuring flowers and plants found along roadsides and in residential neighborhoods,
she creates collages in which parts of the painting are repositioned.
She has also undertaken numerous projects in corporate visual production, graphic design, and textile design.

The straight lines that emerge during the collage process are not elements that sever or create noise, but rather resemble a free path toward achieving a new balance.
The use of straight lines and the transformation of the canvas reflect the influence of my grandfather—a carpenter—planing wood, as well as superhero and transforming robot themes. By blurring the boundary between reality and fiction, these works draw the viewer’s gaze beyond the canvas, expanding their imagination.
